Camp is over!

hello everyone,

I know a lot of you are hoping to see the pics and the rest of the videos, etc from camp, well they will be up later.  For now I am taking some time off to see my family.  Once my vacation is over I will upload everything, until them please let me spend time with my wife and son without being bothered with questions about when I will I post this or when will I upload that.  I have given a month of my time to you guys, you can give me a week with my family (who i barely saw during the 4 weeks of camp).  so please wait patiently.

I will post here when I get everything uploaded.  thanks.

Week 4 Thur Evening

hello outside world,
What a great day outside! the weather was gorgeous! everyone was outside most of the day and in the water somewhere.
I have said it before, but this weeks group is really unique and I have really enjoyed getting to know them. Some of them I have known for years, many of them I met this week (some I have met today). And even the ones I met on Monday, I can see a change happening with them. their attitudes are changing and they are letting down walls that for some have been up for a really long time. It’s really cool to see God work. Especially in Bible Quizzing. I am in charge of the scoring for Bible Quizzing and I like to see the different scores from Monday to todays. and that is a sign of the jump in the number of scripture the campers are memorizing as well. again, it’s pretty cool.
tonight is Mission Impossible. the greatest camp game ever. pray everyone has a good SAFE time.
until later,
-Lumpy

Week 4 Wed Evening

hello everyone,

I wrote a post yesterday but it must have been lost in cyber space somewhere.

anyways, yesterday and today were really good despite the heat.  we had a special visitor named Orlyn Marks stop by and taught many of the guys (and girls) how to blob.  it was a lot of fun.  He is the official blob master, and if you want to get close enough to Jesus to give him a high-five, he’s your man.

the great thing about this weeks group is their enthusiasm.  they get excited about the games and the lake and Bible Quizzing.  we have a lot of new campers this week who have never seen Bible Quizzing and they have all picked it up really well!  it’s really cool to see them memorizing God’ Word and get excited about it.

These past couple of days we have also seen a lot of lives changed.  Jack has preached up a storm every night giving the campers quite a few things to think about. and many have made some really big decisions this week already.   please pray that these are life altering and not just a spur of the moment thing to be abandoned when they leave here.

well that’s all for now, until tomorrow.

Week 4 Monday Evening

hello all,
Week 4 has started and wow what a wild and crazy and fun group!
the lake was hopping with campers blobbing and doing the zipline and the boats. It was a lot of fun. I even got to blob a few campers. And Bible Quizzing was really cool to watch today as well. Mainly because we had so many teens that had never quizzed before and they all got it! I am pretty sure majority of those new to quizzing got at least one question right, if they didn’t they at least jumped and tried! it was really cool to see them actually getting it. and of course to see them memorizing God’s Word.
then there was the game this evening. this group is very tough and very competitive. I have never seen such an intense game of water balloon scavenger hunt. they all wanted to win. it was even more fun because of the mud from all the rain we had here at camp this weekend. it was a lot of fun.
Now we are learning from our camp speaker Jack Hager.
more tomorrow.

Attention Week 1 & Week 2 campers!

hey everyone I have been working on the pics for your week. As you know Mike takes A LOT of pictures so we had to go through and take out the blurry ones and the duplicates etc. I have put them in a file called an Iso image, basically you download it and then you can burn it to a CD and have all of them on a disc. I will be uploading the pics themselves latter on this week.
thanks,
-Lumpy

Week 3 wrapup

welcome home!
WOW week 3 was amazing! I love how much energy and enthusiasm those little guys have. they make for a great great week of camp. I hope they all came home and told their parents how much they love them and I hope they told you about the decisions they made and what God did in their life last week.
the sermons and worship recordings were messed up sorry about that but they are up there still, and the sermons aren’t too bad.
the videos on the other hand turned out great and the last one will be up later on tonight. I will be adding the pictures later this week as well.

Week 3 Wed Evening

Hello,
Today can be summed up in one word, Rain! luckily it only rained this afternoon AFTER our free time at the blob and the pool. Today the kids learned how to lead their friends to Christ. We have eaten really well this week as well. Tonight we will play be greatest camp game of all, Mission Impossible! It will be even more run in the mud.
This is a great group of kids. They love playing volleyball and playing in the pool and Bible Quizzing! they get very excited about it, especially when they get a question right.
Tonight Shane is talking about the family, and what the Bible has to say about it. pray that God will move in these kids and that they will learn to trust in Him as their Heavenly father.
until tomorrow,
-Lumpy

Monday Evening

Good Evening.
Today was the 1st day of our Jr week. it’s always an interesting and fun week. And it’s always a hard week as well. It’s shocking to see what these little ones are dealing with at such a very young age. No one understands this better then Shane Sanderson, our camp speaker. I have never met some one who loves and cares for these guys as much as he does. He loves them so much that he is starting an orphanage in Guatemala to reach kids and show them God’s love and to introduce them to their Heavenly Father. Tonight Shane shared with the kids the enemies that they have (satan, the world, wrong friends, and themselves). Many of the kids came forward wanting to rid themselves of those things and live for God and to follow Him. It has been a powerful evening.
Now the day was filled with a lot of fun stuff though. The Blob and Zipline were very popular today as was the pool. the guys tried to sink our inner-tube (and failed). And many saw Bible Quizzing for the first time today and everyone did really well with it. And of course we are all eating really really well.
You kids are doing well today, they are in good hands. continue to pray for them this week as Shane speaks to them and as we show them God’s love (and patience) to them.

Week 2 recap

well week 2 is over and Week 3 has just begun!
Jack gave us a lot of good things to think about and a lot of decisions to make and changes in our lives to make.
I will be posting pics from it very very soon and the last of Jack’s messages later today as well.
until next year (for some of you campers),
